MicroType is a product that isn't compatible with modern operating systems like Vista, 7, 8 or RT. It was designed and released for Windows 98, ME, XP, 2000. You could try to run the application in compatibility mode, but I doubt it will work properly since it has support for old operating systems.

Download and install Recuva then use the built-in wizard to look for a specific file format, or use the general search. Additionally, you can use the option to specify the path where your files were stored. You can recover the files if you see a green marker. Yellow or red items are not recoverable.
